Common areas and living spaces
We believe that the best place for people to be as they age is at home. When this is no longer possible, then our commitment is to provide an environment that feels as much like a home as we can make it.
Princess Juliana Lodge has a range of common spaces, allowing residents to choose where and with whom they spend their time. Princess Juliana Lodge contains the following common spaces:
- A large lounge area with a piano, Digital TV/ DVD and internet access
- A large dining arstorea
- A large sunroom
- Two outdoor, secure garden areas with seating, a gazebo and pathways.
The open plan lounge and dining areas are large and comfortable. They contain small tables that can be moved around to suit resident needs and preferences.
The lounge areas have a variety of chairs, recliners and lounges catering to different needs. There is good natural light, and views to the garden.
On special occasions such as Christmas and other holidays, these spaces are often used to put on parties and dinners with families.
The sun room has lounge chairs and a small table, providing a common space that still affords some privacy. Residents often use these rooms to sit and read, or meet with family members for a morning tea.
Princess Juliana Lodge is serviced by a large common kitchen, where meals are freshly cooked each day.
The secure backyards are well-kept, and have outdoor tables and chairs. Residents often use these spaces to meet with family and friends. The backyards also have a gazebo, shaded seating, and garden paths.
Princess Juliana Lodge is all single-storey and has no stairs. There are nurse call outlets located at important points throughout the buildings and there is centralised heating and air conditioning in the common areas, and individual air conditioning in each room.

Each of the bedrooms at Princess Juliana Lodge has a built-in wardrobe, good natural light, and windows with a garden view. All rooms are carpeted, and the carpet was very recently replaced in all rooms and common rooms. All bedrooms in Princess Juliana Lodge have a nurse call station and an air conditioning unit.
